Following a Europe-wide award procedure, the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) has awarded Westdeutscher Wach- und Schutzdienst Fritz Kötter SE & Co. KG with security and guarding services for a period of four years at the Duisburg and Essen campuses (each with external properties) on December 21, 2024.

In addition to the price, qualitative and social criteria were also decisive for the award decision in the innovative award procedure. As a result, UDE was able to ensure, for example, that the staff employed during the execution of the contract would receive a bonus above the standard pay scale.

Reinhard Böhle, the partner responsible at WR Legal: “We are very pleased that UDE was able to achieve a very cost-effective result even with the consideration of social criteria and that no bidder successfully challenged the procedure.” Compared to the existing contract, UDE will save several hundred thousand euros annually as a result of the new award.
